Learn the foundations of handweaving

This workshop is an introduction to weaving on a table loom. Over three sessions, you’ll learn how the loom works and go through the main steps of creating a woven textile, from preparing the warp to starting and developing your own piece.

We’ll begin by understanding the different parts of the loom and how they work together. You’ll learn how to measure and prepare the warp, how to set it onto the loom, and how to begin weaving. From there, we’ll explore basic weaving structures and techniques, while experimenting with different materials, colours and textures.

Throughout the sessions, you’ll work on your own textile piece, applying what you learn as you go. I’ll guide you through each stage and help you understand not only how to weave, but why the different parts of the process work the way they do.

This is a good option if you want to go a little deeper into handweaving and understand the process from preparing the loom to building a finished textile.
